I'm also hoping to start recording again soon with enough new songs for a full album, I'd like to take at least a sample of those to the US in July. It's often a difficult decision regarding the best way to record - DIY, professional studio, home studio etc. I like to concentrate on the production & arrangements of the songs & really dislike the whole technical side so usually prefer someone else does that in consultation with me but I also like things to happen quickly rather than be a long drawn out process so it's a bit of a balancing act.
The plans for the US Tour are moving along nicely. US Label HCM and The Boston Music Spotlight are working very hard for me and I think we can achieve some great things together. My focus is to build on these relationships and create as many opportunities for success as I can.
I recently contributed my song 'Pretty Words' to the last Acoustika release from 272 Records based in Hollywood, California. Hopefully the promotion of that album and the additional airplay will dovetail nicely into HCM's tour marketing and promotions and contribute to the success of the gigs there.
I was also hoping to include the UK given I had such a successful first time tour there in 2008 where I played with my good friend Beck Sian across England, Scotland and Wales but unfortunately there just isn't enough time. I am still pondering the idea of taking a couple of weeks at the end of the tour just to catch up with some of the wonderful people I encountered there.
